Podcast Recording and Editing [Blog 7]
In addition to recording for local bands and musicians, Neverending is also the recording site of the Live860 podcast. live860 is a biblical podcast associated with Church860, hosted by Rob Chandler and Khris Rogers. In this podcast, Rob and Khris break down important stories from the bible, identifying their lessons and real world applications. Throughout my two months at Neverending studios, I’ve assisted with setup and troubleshooting ahead of the Thursday night recording

The Road Case [Blog 6]
[Week 4/20 - 4/24] Putting together this large road case was a example of potential setbacks you may experience as someone who works with music equipment. Being a member of a church who’s going Mobile later this year, Rob will be required to move his sound equipment with ease, which is where this large, four drawer road case comes in. The initial issue with the road case lies in the fact that the slides on one side did not match the other, causing very janky motion when slidi

Guitar tech [Blog 5]
One of Neverending Studios’ premiere facilities are its guitar amplifiers, and their setup which allows for streamlined recording of electric guitar tracks. In the collection, there are amps from Peavey, Epiphone, Marshall, Danolectro, Vox, and more. Our dive into the guitar setup came when I expressed an interest in testing the Amps on a slow day. When we tested several of the amps, we noticed a distinct and distracting crackle, that persisted after switching out guitar cabl

Studio housekeeping, troubleshooting, and Maintenance
Following our recording sessions in March, we shifted our priorities to enhancing the studio space to further streamline the recording process and maintain equipment quality. One skill I learned was how to use a Die to make a thread on a steel rod. Rob and I made a small collection of threaded rods, which he then went and capped with plastic bears to serve as stress relievers for patch cables and headphone rests. The following week, we turned the studio outward to take care

Blog 3: Cleaning and Restringing Guitars
Since the beginning of my musical journey, Guitar and bass were my two primary instruments. Despite this, I still have much to learn in terms of both my playing skills as well as maintenance. During my Internship at Neverending studios, I’ve furthered my journey as a guitarist by learning how to properly clean and restring both Acoustic and Electric guitars. Acoustic 1 Before I was able to do work on Rob’s collection of guitars, he gave me the opportunity to try cleaning and

Blog 2: First Recording Sessions
[3/16/26 - 3/30/26] During the latter half of March, local musician Mark Hitchcox came into the studio several times to record an original song. The first session [3/16/26], saw the initial tracking of the guitar and vocals. For the vocals, we used a small diaphragm condenser mic, while we used an AKG 414 and a Beeznees Judas for the acoustic guitar. This setup allowed for a lot of body in the guitar and a very natural sounding vocal. The overall session went very well, only

Spring Internship [Week 1]
[3/4/26 - 3/6/26] I began my spring internship by familiarizing myself with the equipment, the space, and the owner, Rob Chandler. After getting the full tour of his recording equipment collection, rack gear, and tracking space, He gave me the opportunity to Mix one of his old recordings in the LUNA daw, helping me to get familiar with the sound quality of the space as well as his extensive plugin collection. I found myself drawn primarily to the Soundtoys line of plugins. O
